Accessibility Statement

Effective: May 6, 2026

Our Commitment

Fyte IQ™ is committed to making the platform usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, switch devices, and screen magnification. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as the practical standard for digital accessibility.

What We've Done

The current site implements:

  • Keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element
  • A “Skip to main content” link as the first focusable element on every page
  • Honored prefers-reduced-motion — animations and decorative transitions stop for users who request reduced motion
  • Text alternatives for icon-only links (the inbox / verification badge in the nav)
  • Form labels associated with every input on signup, login, password reset, and waitlist forms
  • Semantic HTML — buttons are <button>, links are <a>, headings follow a logical hierarchy
  • Color contrast aiming for the WCAG AA ratio (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Modal dialogs trap keyboard focus, can be dismissed with the Escape key, and return focus to the triggering element when closed
  • Error messages announced to screen readers via role=“alert” live regions
  • The site supports user-controlled zoom up to at least 200%

Known Limitations

We’re honest about what we haven’t finished:

  • The interactive lineage tree (/lineage/[id]) is a visual D3 graph. We provide a screen-reader-only ordered list of ancestors and descendants on the same page so the information is reachable, but the visual graph itself isn’t navigable with a keyboard.
  • The 24/7 video Channel relies on the YouTube IFrame Player. Captions depend on whether the source video has them; we surface YouTube’s native caption controls but do not generate captions ourselves.
  • We have not yet completed an external accessibility audit by an independent firm. We plan to engage a third-party auditor before scaling the user base meaningfully.
  • Some user-uploaded images (gym photos, event covers, profile avatars) may lack descriptive alt text. We default to the file name or empty alt; we plan to prompt users for descriptions on upload in a future release.

Tell Us About a Barrier

If you run into a barrier on Fyte IQ, please tell us. We treat accessibility complaints as priority support and aim to respond within five business days.

Email support@fyteiq.com with:

  • The page or feature where you ran into the issue (a URL helps)
  • What you were trying to do
  • What assistive technology, browser, and operating system you’re using (if you’re comfortable sharing)

We’ll acknowledge receipt and tell you what we’re going to do about it. Even if we can’t fix it immediately, we’ll explain the timeline.

Standards and Conformance

We measure ourselves against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We don’t make a formal claim of full conformance until an independent audit confirms it. The conformance level we claim today is partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA— we meet the majority of success criteria but have known gaps as listed above.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility isn’t a launch checkbox. We commit to:

  • Including accessibility review in every product change that touches user-facing UI
  • Annual third-party audits once we’re past the early-stage phase
  • Publishing the date and findings of each audit on this page
  • Responding to accessibility complaints with the same priority as security issues
